The Guatemalan Tomorrow Fund (GTF) is a non-denominational, non-profit (501 C-3) organization dedicated exclusively to raising funds and providing logistical support for Ak’ Tenamit: an indigenous Q’eqchi Maya community development association based in the rainforests of eastern Guatemala. The GTF supports Ak’ Tenamit’s work to improve health, education, family incomes and the situation of women in dozens of isolated indigenous communities. Ak’ Tenamit runs an innovative health program, a secondary school that teaches practical skills, small business management, and community development, and promotes the education of indigenous girls.
The GTF raises funds, coordinates material donations, and provides logistical support for Ak’ Tenamit. We arrange student sponsorships, healthcare partnerships and other donations and arrange presentations by Steve Dudenhoefer or members of our Board of Directors at churches, Rotary clubs, schools and coordinate visits to Ak Tenamit by Rotary club “humanitarian work teams” and by individuals. Call MaryEllen Aumack at 561-747-9790 for information.

Ak' Tenamit and Moran Education Center have grown rapidly during the past two years. Our high school's rapid growth during the past two years (350 to over 500 students) has dramatically increased basic overhead expenses - gas, diesel and food up 38%. Please consider donating to Where Most Needed or sponsoring a student.

Ak’ Tenamit’s innovative education program is transforming the region it serves by helping indigenous girls complete school and providing a practical, hands-on, secondary education for Q’eqchi Maya youth that includes training in sustainable agriculture, tourism, entrepreneurship and community development though a program of internships based on two weeks in class and two weeks of work. For information about how you, or your organization can assist Ak’ Tenamit’s education program, please contact us.

GTF supports Ak’ Tenamit’s efforts to provide medical care to indigenous communities in the rain forests of eastern Guatemala through its riverside clinic, floating dental clinic, and medical teams that visit 41 remote Q’eqchi Maya villages every month. GTF solicits and transfers cash and in-kind donations of medicines and equipment that enable Ak’ Tenamit’s international medical volunteers, indigenous technicians and village health promoters to provide basic healthcare to more than 6,000 people for less than $15 per patient per year.
